To streamline the submission process, Feinaki Beijing Animation Week is now accepting entries via the online platform FilmFreeway. Please submit your work through the festival’s FilmFreeway page (free of charge).
Submission Regulations
Submission Eligibility
No submission fee is required.
Submitted animated films must have been completed after November 1, 2024, and be under 60 minutes in length.
Works previously submitted to Feinaki Beijing Animation Week are not eligible.
Artificial intelligence–assisted works are eligible; however, entrants must accurately disclose the scope and extent of its use.
Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles.
Awards
- Grand Prix
5000 RMB, awarded to the best film in the Short Film Competition.
- Feinaki Award
5000 RMB, awarded to the best Chinese film in the Short Film Competition.
*Chinese film must meet at least one of the following criteria:
1. The director or any of the co-directors is Chinese.
2. The film’s production country includes China
- Student Award
3000 RMB, awarded to the best student film in the Short Film Competition.
- MV Award
Awarded to the best film in the MV Competition.
- Commissioned Animation Award
Awarded to the best film in the Commissioned Animation Competition.
- Children's Animation Award
Awarded to the best children’s animation in the All Ages Program, voted by audiences from the All Ages Program.
- Jury's Choice Award
Six films from the Short Film Competition will receive Jury's Choice Award. Each juror selects two films, including one Chinese film and one foreign film.
* In addition to the above awards, the Feinaki Beijing Animation Week Executive Committee reserves the right to introduce further awards to the competition.
Submission Requirements
1. A film file or a password-protected online screener link (please ensure the link remains active until September 25).
2. 1 profile photo of the director.
3. 3 stills from the film.
4. (Optional) 1 poster of the film.
5. (Optional) 1 trailer of the film.
Technical Requirements
If the submitted film is officially selected, an HD version must be provided in MOV format (Codec: ProRes 422 or H.264, Full HD resolution, stereo sound).
Selection Process and Awarding Rules
The Preliminary Selection Committee is composed of experts in animation and related arts, as well as members of the Feinaki Beijing Animation Week Executive Committee. The committee is responsible for selecting the shortlisted films and curating the screening programs for each competition section and the Panorama Program.
The preliminary selection results will be announced in early September 2026 via the official website of Feinaki Beijing Animation Week.
The Final Jury, composed of international experts invited by the Feinaki Beijing Animation Week Executive Committee, will determine the following awards: Grand Prix, Feinaki Award, Student Award, MV Award, Commissioned Animation Award, and Jury’s Choice Awards. The Children’s Animation Award will be selected by audience voting from the All Ages Program.
The list of award winners will be announced at the closing ceremony of the 8th Feinaki Beijing Animation Week.
Festival Authorization
All submitted materials must be authorized by the copyright holder.
Works that infringe upon the copyrights or other lawful rights and interests of any third party may be disqualified by the Feinaki Beijing Animation Week Executive Committee.
The Feinaki Beijing Animation Week Executive Committee reserves the right to use all images, written materials, and excerpts of up to 10% of the total running time of the submitted films for promotional purposes related to the festival.
Films selected for the competition will be screened at the 8th Feinaki Beijing Animation Week. No screening fee will be paid for films selected for the competition program during the festival.
